About
The mention of Green Gables evokes everything that Palo Alto is revered for: wide, tree-lined streets, family friendly neighborhoods, distinguished homes, and top-ranked schools. Green Gables is comprised of multiple sub-districts, the most noteworthy being Duveneck/St. Francis, Triple El, and Leland Manor. The sub-areas help to create a versatile and dynamic neighborhood.
The largest of the three, Duveneck/St. Francis, reflects the quality characteristics of abutting Crescent Park. Life here is centered around Eleanor Pardee Park, the second largest park in the area, and Duveneck Elementary, currently ranked as the top elementary school in all of California out of over 5,000 schools!
Triple El is known for the architecture of famous California developer, Joseph Eichler, whose homes are a hallmark of mid-century modernism. Despite certain neighborhoods being restricted to single stories, and basement restrictions on homes in the flood zone, Triple El is a fantastic option for young families looking to access Duveneck Elementary.
The unique layout of Leland Manor, with its four cul-de-sacs, fosters its quiet streets and tight-knit community. And its proximity to Greene Middle School and Walter Hays Elementary, esteemed Palo Alto schools, also makes it an extremely desirable neighborhood to be in. With the expansive quarter-acre lots, there is a lot of redevelopment including new homes with full basements being built in Leland Manor. Fulton Street turns into “Christmas Tree Lane” during the holidays, and it is a joy to see residents strolling about, enjoying the decorations of this traditional Christmas celebration that further brings Palo Alto residents together.
All combined, the sub-areas of this neighborhood meet the lofty standards of Palo Alto livability, while each offering their own unique flare.
