True to its namesake, the Hidden Valley/Family Farm neighborhood flourishes in verdant beauty with breathtaking vistas, scores of vineyards, walking trails, and wildlife. This peaceful pocket of land stretches over acres of natural landscaping and meticulously kept vineyards, providing an idyllic setting for the quaint community which consists of less than one hundred houses. Most of the properties in this neighborhood are expansive, some with room enough for horse pastures. Tucked away in such a rural setting allows residents an exclusive glimpse into the natural world around them. Animals such as deer, coyotes, bobcats, blue herons, and red-tailed hawks can often be spotted throughout the rolling hills.
Once an active men’s club dubbed the “Bohemian Club” in the early 1900s, Family Farm has become a place of cabins and stages used by a younger generation. Though many of the homes in Family Farm have been torn down since their original construction, a number of original homes are still standing tall, proudly preserving the neighborhood’s history.
Though the properties in the Hidden Valley/Family Farm neighborhood might be in less quantity than other neighborhoods, the community is still close-knit with residents keeping in touch through emails about events or local news. The annual Christmas party alternates hosts and always draws a crowd. Despite the distance between neighbors, residents often see each other while horseback riding or dog walking along the trails.
