About
The Cherry Chase neighborhood is highly sought-after for its tight-knit community and fantastic schools. This peaceful area of Sunnyvale has tree-lined streets and numerous cul-de-sacs, promoting minimal through-traffic and a family-friendly feel. Consisting of roughly 2,500 homes built in the 50s and 60s, delightful Cherry Chase “Charmers,” which refer to Eichler and Ranch style homes, make up the majority. These homes have great curb appeal and plenty of space for outdoor living. Despite the quiet suburban setting, this neighborhood allows for easy commutes with Highway 85 and 280 accessible within minutes. Sutter Health Palo Alto Medical Foundation is also conveniently located close by for those who work there.
The Neighborhood Association fosters the sense of community that residents cherish so much by organizing block parties and other fun events. In Cherry Chase, a feeling of neighborly love can be seen in the way that residents look out for one another for the greater safety of everyone. Families also come together through the esteemed schools that pervade in the area. Even for those choosing private education, the neighborhood boasts highly acclaimed institutions like Stratford School. Ken’s daughter attended Stratford and enjoyed the way technology, engineering, art, and physical education are incorporated into the accelerated curriculum.
For outdoor recreation, nearby De Anza Park has 9.4 acres of fun. An Aztec-themed park with picnic grounds, a basketball court, racquetball courts, athletic fields, one of the two skateboard parks in Sunnyvale as well as open space to unwind, De Anza is hard to beat. For those avid swimmers and tennis players, Mango Park is a perfect alternative.
Cherry Chase is in the Sunnyvale School District including Cherry Chase Elementary, Sunnyvale Middle, and Homestead High.
