Perched along the foothills of San Antonio Open Space Preserve is the gorgeous Country Club neighborhood. Built on unincorporated Santa Clara County land, this neighborhood was aptly named for the Los Altos Golf and Country Club, which was established in 1923. With original 1940s homes nestled among newer constructions, this neighborhood still retains its original rural and rustic feel.
The Los Altos Golf and Country Club has been a central part of this neighborhood since its founding. The original club members purchased the 700-acre tract, reserved 155 acres for the club, and subdivided the rest into residential plots. Between 2012 and 2013, the club underwent significant remodeling, which resulted in an expanded fitness facility as well as additional upgrades and remodels. Club members and visitors alike are enchanted by the stunning vistas seen from the club’s 18-hole golf course, while residents can also enjoy fairway views, at a slightly higher price than a home without a view. Even without a view, homes in Country Club bask in abundant privacy, offered by the area’s topography.
