Overview
The Howard Park neighborhood is located in the center of San Carlos. The neighborhood is bordered by El Camino Real to its east, Brittan Avenue to its south, Alameda de las Pulgas to its west and San Carlos Avenue to its north.
Howard Park is one of the most popular neighborhoods in San Carlos as it includes the town’s downtown area (Laurel Street) and is home to three of its schools, with one school at each of the San Carlos School District’s levels.
Located a street off of El Camino Real, Laurel Street features a number of fabulous restaurants and boutique stores.
Town San Carlos is the crown jewel of restaurants in the neighborhood. It is great for any occasion, whether you are looking for one of their signature steaks, some unique sushi options or one of their special cocktails. A little secret, their sister restaurant is Nola (located in Palo Alto) and you might just see the Nola special jambalaya or hurricane cocktails on the menu at Town San Carlos from time to time.
As you travel south on Laurel street, right outside of the downtown area is Noelani’s Island Grill. Known as a “Taste of Aloha” there is no better place in the peninsula to sit down and feel like you are transported to Hawaii, minus the Sharks and Warriors dominating the television screens. On a normal Friday, live music joins the already amazing atmosphere.
In December, Eucalyptus Avenue, transforms into Christmas Tree Lane. Each home on the street is decorated and its not just any decorations as each home goes all out and showcases the best Christmas decorations they can. This past December, due to COVID-19, line to drive through Christmas Tree Lane lasted over one hour and there were even hot dog vendors strolling into town to sell hot dogs at the end of the street.
